We truly appreciate your patience and enthusiasm for our upcoming condensed mincemeat. We’ve experienced unexpected delays in bringing in a key piece of equipment required for production. The import process has taken much longer than anticipated due to new logistical and regulatory hurdles that were outside of our control. We’re working closely with our partners to resolve this as quickly as possible and will announce an updated release date as soon as production begins. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to share this long-awaited product with you soon. Please click here to be notified when it’s available to order.
While we don’t yet have an official recipe tested specifically for substituting the jarred version, several home bakers have shared approaches that worked well for them:
Option 1: Adjust the flour.
Use about ½ jar of mincemeat and add an extra ½ cup of flour. This helps absorb some of the extra moisture.
Option 2: Dry out the mincemeat first.
Drain off as much liquid as possible from the jarred mincemeat, then spread it onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at a low temperature (~250°F for about 1 hour) to let it dry slightly. Cool completely before using in your recipe.
We recommend experimenting to find your preferred texture — the jarred mincemeat has a softer consistency than the condensed variety, so a small adjustment in flour or moisture can make a big difference.
None Such Mincemeat Ready-to-Use version has a 36-month shelf life from its production date. Our Condensed version has a 48-month shelf life from its production date. Once opened, you must refrigerate and use within 3 to 4 days.
The Best-By date is usually located towards the bottom of the label, to the right of the UPC barcode. On certain jars, you might instead find the best-by date printed directly on the side of the glass jar, above the label, or sometimes printed on top of the lid.
